I learned that to be successful you must never give up. Every failure is a step on the way to success. Donald Trump has a can-do, take-no-prisoners attitude. Be your own person. Demand what you want in life. Do not let other people run your life. Do not let people push you around. If someone crosses you, do not lie down and take it; fight back, kick ass, and get even. Make your own rules, and do not care what other people think. That is what Donald Trump is all about.

Find your passion in doing something useful for people and the money will follow.

With everything you do, find a mission or grand purpose beyond money that you can become passionate about. Find the higher ground above the greedy exclusiveness of people who only care about money. Broaden your vision to see the total picture of what you are offering. Fill as many needs as you can: creating beauty, efficiency, health, security, and livelihood for as many people as possible.

In the late 80s I thought I had made it big and did not have to work hard anymore. I quickly learned that the world is a changing place. You cannot stand still. If you do, life will pass you by.

Once you set your goals, start looking for opportunities to start acting on them. If you hesitate when an opportunity presents itself to you, it may be the fear of failure that makes you procrastinate.

Also study books and learn from experienced people in the field. Then, as soon as you can, start doing it. Do not wait around for the “right time” or until you are perfect. It will never happen. Start right away. You will learn more from doing than you would learn from anything else.

Everyone makes mistakes; all of us. Do not jump down the throat of every employee who makes a mistake. If you punish every mistake severely, you set a standard that is hard to achieve. Many people will play it too safe in order to not make mistakes. Mistakes will decrease, but so will productivity and ingenuity. If you want extraordinary results, you have to give people enough space to maneuver.
